Rationale:
In order to apply as much Katakana as possible, I write this story which start from picking food in supermarket. There are some other places that I design to use katakana instead of kanji. For example, for the word "time", I use katakana instead of kanji "時間" to emphasize that "I don't have time!!!"
In this passage, I talk about how a relationship with a wonderful person makes my life lovely. After briefly introducing what kind a person he is, I trace back to our first date in Central Park. We went to supermarket to buy the stuff and then had a picnic. During the date, we saw boys play tennis. Even though it was cold, we enjoyed each other's company very much. But as we both are not good at sports, we did not join the boys to play tennis. After that, we went to a tea house (to had some hot drink and get out of the cold environment).
Then, I describe how our daily life is like. We study together everyday in the library, and have dinner together everyday. Ramen is our favorite. As we don't have time, we seldom cook. As graduate students, we live a hard life. We have to write papers everyday. But it's very enjoyable at the same time. (Because both of us want to become scholars. Writing papers is a crucial part of our life.) I am learning Japanese language. He is learning Korean language. We sometimes communicate in Chinese. But as his Chinese is not very good, in most cases we speak in English to each other.
In the above paragraph, I am trying to reveal different sides of a cross-cultural relationship. Language is definitely a very important part. So I try to represent how we communicate with each other. Even through we are both ethnic Chinese, and we both study in US, which means it is more convenient for us to switch between Chinese and English in communication, we still run into difficulties sometimes. But we enjoy learning languages, and being able to use more languages would be very helpful for our researches. That's the reason why I am learning Japanese at the same time, so is that he learns Korean.
In the last paragraph, I tell the readers that my boyfriend and I are going to spend our winter break in California! We will use the historical materials in Stanford University (as Stanford has a very good collection in Republic China period, and both of our researches are in that period.) We will also travel around California! In the ending paragraph, I re-expressed how good I feel of being in love. (Not only because there is such a wonderful person as company, most importantly: we share similar interests in academia as well as in daily life.)
